our ongoing charity offer - websites for free!
Every quarter celandine webdesign agency (that is, me :) organises a prize draw - an idea for a website judged as most humane, socially useful, generous or creative is rewarded by a full package of website design and development services, free of charge. So if you have an idea for a website which would present a charity institution, support a community, or be in any way generally beneficial for your fellow man, send me an e-mail outlining your idea - you think of others, and celandine will think of you! The reecipient of the quarterly celandine prize will be announced on June 1st 2009.

Kiva - an organisation operating under the slogan 'loans that change lives' - enables small enterpreneurs from poor countries to work their way out of poverty. You can donate as little as $25, and already you are helping someone develop their little business venture. But the original aspect of this type of help is that you are not giving your money away - you are simply loaning it out for a fixed term, and your selected enterpreneur will pay you back in agreed installments. Once the debt is repayed - you can use the same money to help someone else.
This is a unique way to help the poor, as it builds a sense of mutual respect and partnership between the enterpreneur and the loaner - you know you are helping people who are working hard to improve the quality of their own lives. Celandine supports Kiva - why wouldn't you? :)
